How to Create an Account Link

From session ID to shareable overview page in about two minutes.

What is an account link?

An account link is a unique URL (for example accinsight…/account/abc123) that shows a structured overview of a DarkOrbit account: level, rank, honor, experience, uridium, credits, ships, drones, modules, skill tree and titles. The page is generated from a snapshot of your account data at the moment you run the analysis. You can share the link with anyone — viewers do not need an account on AccInsight.

Step 1: Sign in with Discord

Creating account links requires a Discord login. This keeps the platform free of spam, ties every link to its creator and lets you manage the links you have created later. Click Login in the navigation bar and authorize the Discord sign-in.

Step 2: Find your session ID (SID)

The analysis reads your account data through your current game session. For that it needs your session ID — the value of the dosid cookie on your DarkOrbit server. In any Chrome-based browser:

  1. Log in to DarkOrbit as usual and open the backpage (the website you see after logging in).
  2. Press F12 (or right-click → Inspect) to open the browser DevTools.
  3. Switch to the Application tab. If you don't see it, click the » icon to reveal hidden tabs.
  4. In the left sidebar, expand Cookies and select your server domain, e.g. de1.darkorbit.com.
  5. Find the cookie named dosid and copy its value — that is your session ID.

On the homepage you will also find a “Need help?” button next to the SID field with annotated screenshots and a video tutorial for the Maxthon browser.

Step 3: Run the analysis

On the homepage, open the Analyze Account tab, paste your SID and enter your server code (for example GE1 or US2 — the short code of the server you play on).

Step 4: Choose the visibility

Before starting, decide who can find your page:

  • Share publicly — your account page is listed on the AccInsight homepage and can appear in search results. Great if you want to show off your progress.
  • Private (default off) — the page is reachable only via the direct link. It is not listed anywhere and is excluded from search engines.

Then click Analyze Account. After a short moment your account page opens in a new tab — the URL in the address bar is your shareable account link.

Security notes

  • Your session ID is sensitive: anyone who has a valid SID can access the game session it belongs to. Only enter it on AccInsight itself and never send it to other players, “support staff” in DMs, or third-party websites.
  • AccInsight uses the SID once to read your statistics and does not store it. Only the resulting stats snapshot is saved.
  • A SID becomes invalid when the game session ends — if you want to be extra careful, simply log out of DarkOrbit after the analysis and log back in.

Troubleshooting

  • “Invalid SID or server” — your session has most likely expired. Log in to DarkOrbit again, copy the fresh dosid value and retry. Also double-check the server code: it must match the server the session belongs to.
  • Stats look outdated — account pages are snapshots. Run the analysis again to refresh the page; earlier snapshots remain visible in the account history.
